From Concept to Production

Take a concept to production without redesigning it twice.

Our engineering team works with you from early concept through Design for Manufacturing (DFM) review, prototyping and validation — so the product that reaches the production line is the one that was designed to be built, not a compromise forced by tooling constraints late in the process.

Tooling Built to Run

Tooling that's ready for mass production, not just a good first trial.

We manage tooling design, fabrication and trial through to a qualified, production-ready tool — with modification cycles planned into the schedule from the start, not treated as a surprise that delays your launch.

Consistent, Run After Run

The same quality on the first unit and the ten-thousandth.

We develop and lock the manufacturing process before mass production begins, so consistency comes from controlled process parameters — not from luck or constant firefighting on the shop floor.

One Finished Product, Not a Pile of Parts

Receive a finished product — not components you still have to assemble.

Beyond the primary manufacturing process, we coordinate the secondary processes that turn a raw part into a finished product: marking, decoration, joining and final assembly — so what arrives at your dock is complete and ready to sell, not a set of parts and a new supply chain to manage.

One Point of Contact

One engineering manager accountable for your project — not a chain of hand-offs to chase.

A single project engineer coordinates timeline, risk and engineering changes across design, tooling and production on your behalf — so you have one person to call with a straight answer, not five email threads and no owner.

Beyond the Core Part

Supporting components and packaging, sourced as part of the same project.

Many products need more than the primary molded, stamped or machined part to be ready to ship. We coordinate the supporting components and packaging around it — sealing, labeling, adhesives and packaging — as one project scope, not a separate sourcing exercise you have to run yourself.

Sealing & Protection

Gaskets, seals and protective components

Rubber gaskets, sealing components and protective parts specified alongside the main product — not an afterthought once tooling is already locked.

Labels & Identification

Nameplates, labels and product identification

Product labels, nameplates, warning labels and barcode/QR labels produced to match your product's finish and compliance requirements.

Adhesive Components

Tape, foam and die-cut adhesive parts

Adhesive tape, double-sided tape, adhesive foam and die-cut adhesive parts sourced and qualified for your assembly process.

Packaging

Protective, custom and gift packaging

Protective and custom product packaging, including premium gift boxes and rigid boxes, plus the foam and molded inserts that protect what's inside — and export packaging — cartons and pallets built for international shipment.

Fasteners & Inserts

Heat-set inserts, threaded inserts and screws

Heat-set inserts, threaded inserts and self-tapping screws specified to match your plastic or metal part and assembly method.

Metal Supporting Components

Springs and brackets, sourced with the main part

Springs, brackets and other small metal supporting components sourced and quality-checked as part of the same project — not a separate purchase order.

Why Datum?

Not just a supplier connector.

Our role is not simply to connect customers with factories. We provide engineering judgment and project control to make the supply chain work.

Engineering Expertise

We understand the product, not just the factory.

Hands-on experience in mechanical product development, DFM, tooling and industrialization — so problems get caught on a drawing, not on the production line.

Vietnam Network

We know what a supplier can actually deliver.

We qualify manufacturing partners against real capability, not a sales pitch — matching your product to a factory that can build it right, at the volume you need.

One Accountable Team

One team, one contact, start to finish.

From first drawing to production support, you work with one accountable partner — not a rotating handoff between agents, brokers and factories.

Quality & Control

Engineering-led, not just factory-managed.

Structured validation, full documentation and hands-on supplier follow-up — control that stays with you through ramp-up, not just at handover.

EU Market Access — EVFTA

A tariff advantage that’s already in force.

Since 2020, the EU–Vietnam Free Trade Agreement (EVFTA) has let Vietnamese-made mechanical products enter the EU duty-free or at sharply reduced tariffs — a real, already-active cost advantage, not a pending negotiation, while several competing sourcing markets are still waiting for comparable EU market access. For European buyers, sourcing through Datum can mean a genuine landed-cost advantage, not just a lower factory quote. It is also why Vietnam has become a leading destination for companies actively diversifying their supply chain beyond a single sourcing country — a China+1 strategy that Datum is built to support as a qualified local partner.

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions before starting a project.

Just an idea, a rough sketch, or a reference product — our engineers will help refine the design and technical specifications with you.

We work stage by stage — engineering, prototyping, tooling, and mass production — with clear progress reporting at every step.

We source, evaluate, and recommend suitable suppliers; you always retain final approval before work begins.

Yes. We act as your on-site technical representative, handling reporting and quality control throughout production.

A drawing or reference sample, target volume, and rough timeline are enough for us to scope the project and propose next steps.

Yes. Every design, drawing and specification you share with us is treated as confidential by default — no separate NDA is required before we start reviewing your project.

Yes. We work with first orders and trial quantities before scaling to full production volume — a normal way to validate quality before committing to a larger run.

We are the engineering and project-control team, not a production line ourselves. We take your requirements, run DFM and supplier selection, coordinate a qualified network of tooling, manufacturing and finishing partners, and put every part through an independent validation step before mass production — with our engineers accountable for the outcome at each stage, whichever partner is executing it. This is effectively an OEM/ODM and contract-manufacturing engagement model — you can bring your own design (OEM) or develop it with us from concept (ODM).

Yes — we can arrange a visit to the qualified supplier actually producing your parts, together with our engineering team. It won't be a single "Datum factory" tour, because we work through a network of qualified partners rather than one production line — which is also what lets us match each part to the right process instead of forcing every project through one line's limits.
